The Matrix

Nothing short of ground-breaking. Fantastic movie.

The world that is The Matrix is enthralling. Brilliant work by the Wachowskis.

The entire cast is great... with the exception of Keanu. I love Keanu, but any way you slice it, this is a poor acting performance. It doesn't really bother me, but when you put him side-by-side with the likes of Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving, he sticks out like a sore thumb.

This movie is disgusting. The mouth and bug scene. The pod scene. Every time he "plugs" into The Matrix. All great scenes, but they are so fucking gross.

The action is fucking incredible.

The Matrix has a laundry list of ICONIC scenes that will be forever ingrained in cinema history:

• Red pill vs blue pill

• Kung Fu training

• Ignorance is bliss

• Bullet dodging

• Neo becoming The One

• any scene with Hugo Weaving (I love that guy)

With all that said, The Matrix has a couple of warts. The first is The Oracle scene, it's terrible, drawn out, and boring. The second is... Trinity is in love with Neo? How? They've talked for maybe 5 seconds the whole movie. It's kind of giving me gold digger vibes. I guess you don't really need much game when everybody's calling you The One. Eh, Neo?

Anyway, if you haven't seen the Matrix, you've probably missed out on so many references over the years. Go watch it. Educate yourself. See ya.
