8.9/10 stinky bananas

Great movie. Lots of fun.

Everything about the movie is good. It's aesthetically pleasing. It's well written. It's an entertaining story. It's full of great performances from the cast, especially Michael B. Jordan and Jack O'Connell. Michael B. Jordan is a beast, I could see him winning an Oscar one day. Jack O'Connell's performance is captivating. He is creepy and charismatic simultaneously, and that makes for a damn good villain.

The past and future blues scene and the Irish jig scene are my favourite scenes in the movie. Incredible stuff. Job well done, Mr. Coogler.

I love the end too. The movie is practically over, the vampire situation is resolved, but wait, let's slaughter some Klan members before we go home. What a great way to go out. And if you wait a few minutes after the credits start to roll, you get to see that Smoke (or Stack, I can't remember which is which) and Hailee Steinfeld survived and they look cool as hell. Will we get a Sinners 2? Money talks so... yes, probably.

I have one complaint. I think the actual fight between the vampires and the non-dead could've been done a LITTLE better. It was just too dark and chaotic for my liking, I would've loved to see a John Wick-esque action sequence there. Maybe I'm just being greedy.

Anyway, try to catch this one in theatres, it's well worth it.
