9.6/10 stinky bananas
The best Mission: Impossible ever made. So fucking good. Fallout is widely considered one of the best action movies of the century, and I can tell you that the people are, in fact, correct. The praise this movie has garnered over the years is completely justified.
Fallout is pure unabated wall-to-wall action and the stunts go above and beyond the standard that the Mission: Impossible franchise itself has set. The HALO jump is insanity. The bathroom fight is fantastic. The Solomon Lane extraction is super fun. The helicopter fight is fucking bananas; I think it's the best action scene / stunt in the entire franchise. Absolute thrill ride.
Fallout is definitely the most well written Mission: Impossible movie. The dialogue is quick and smooth. The espionage side of the story is damn near perfect. There are a million twists and turns without getting overly confusing. Two thumbs up.
The acting is really damn good too. Everybody turns in great performances. There are 2 standout performances I would like to note. No. 1 is Henry Cavill. He's tremendous in this. Great villian. No notes. Who would've thunk casting Superman as the bad guy would be a good idea? Not me. No. 2 is Alec Baldwin. He flourishes with the quick back and forth dialogue, but I want to note his performance for one reason and one reason alone. The scene where Benji and Baldwin expose Cavill is fucking hilarious. "Oooh and you were doing so well up until then, but I think this one's loaded." Honestly, the scene rivals the helicopter fight for my favourite scene in the movie.
All in all, fucking fantastic movie. Do me a favour, crack open a beer, turn on Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and have yourself one of the best movie watching experiences of your life. You're welcome.
