A pretty good war movie. I was not overly impressed considering the critical acclaim of this movie. Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman are the clear stars of this movie. If it wasn't for their performances this movie would be average at best.

The overall story is good but the execution of the war scenes was mediocre at best. The main war sequences were smoky piles of poop. You can barely see a goddamn thing. What makes everything worse is Matthew Broderick's acting. He is easily one of the worst actors to ever grace this earth. He hasn't done a single good thing since Ferris Bueller.

Denzel and Morgan's performance saves this movie from the depths of hell.
