There's Something About Mary

Not bad. There's Something About Mary is just a movie full of bits, with close to zero substance to the story. That's not necessarily a complaint either; sometimes I like a comedy that's just for the jokes, but I feel like a good chunk of the bits fell flat for me.

Two scenes encapsulate the point I'm trying to make. The first is the cum hair gel scene. Absolutely revolting stuff. Not even remotely funny. Just gross. The second is the dog-fight scene. Absurd scene in its own right, but it had me dying. Very funny. They swung for the fences and ended up going 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a hit-by-pitch. Certainly not a bad outing, but not a particularly memorable one either.

Anyway, this movie doesn't come close to cracking Ben Stiller's top 10 movies, maybe not even top 20. There's no shame in skipping this one, folks. See ya.
