7.9/10 stinky bananas


Tough one. If you were going into this one with the expectations of LOTR 3 then you would be wildly disappointed. But, on its own it isn’t a bad movie. Quite the opposite in fact, pretty good movie.


The best part of the movie is at the beginning when Luke Evans kills Smaug. From that point on, it is nonstop orc killing action. Granted, some of this movie can be labelled a CGI fuckfest. If they went the more practical route with some of the characters and action sequences, people would have enjoyed it more.


If you rid yourself of LOTR expectations, you can easily enjoy this movie. There is lots to like.
