8.4/10 stinky bananas

Iconic. Not a word I use lightly. This movie is the first of the Indiana Jones franchise and it set the bar for the Action/Adventure genre.

Now, 8.4 may seem low for such an “iconic” movie. But the movie is iconic for many of its parts rather than the movie as a whole.

The opening scene with the bag of sand and the boulder is iconic. The scene where Indy shoots the guy with the sword is iconic. The scene where the ark melts everybody’s faces off and kills all the nazi’s is... yes, you guessed it, iconic. My grammar is all over the place, but I don’t even care. Nobody reads this anyway.

It is crazy how many characters are synonymous with Harrison Ford, but Indiana Jones is by far his best. The Star Wars nerds that think Han Solo is his best can suck it. There is no other actor that could play Indy like Ford did, he is the man.

No major complaints. The only thing I could say is that sometimes the movie drags a bit and the search for the ark wasn’t all that interesting.

If you haven’t seen the Indiana Jones movies then get out of my face.
